Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has pledged to revisit the unresolved case of women whose bodies were discovered at the Kware dumpsite in Embakasi, Nairobi, once she completes her 20-day suspension from Parliament.

Taking to her official X account on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Wamuchomba insisted that her earlier questions in the House still reflect the pain of many Kenyans.

She has demanded answers from relevant authorities over the stalled investigations.

“Expunged or NOT, my question still represents the pain of many Kenyans. Who killed and DUMPED women’s bodies in the Kware dumpsite in Embakassi? Who was the suspect? Why did he ESCAPE from the police cells? What is the Ministry doing about it? Is the case closed? Are victims being considered for compensation? After my 20 days of suspension from parliament, I will REVISIT,” Wamuchomba stated.

Earlier, that lawmaker had stated that she was punished for refusing to accept what she termed as “flimsy” answers from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

Wamuchomba further said her ejection stemmed from her insistence that the government must explain how a murder suspect in the Kware dumpsite case escaped from police custody and why no arrest had been made since.

“I was jettisoned out of Parliament for 20 days for I refused to listen and accept the flimsy answers from CS Interior explaining how they cannot and are NOT able to arrest the murder suspect of the Kware dump site who escaped from CUSTODY!” Wamuchomba stated.

Justice delivery

She went ahead to question the government’s capacity to deliver justice if it could not apprehend suspects in high-profile cases, warning that such failures could push civilians to take matters into their own hands.

“If Cs cannot arrest and deliver justice, what are civilians ought to do?” she questioned.

Wamuchomba’s suspension

Wamuchomba was suspended from parliament for 20 days on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

Speaking on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula stated that she will serve the suspension, excluding recess days.

“As to the case of Hon. Wamuchomba, we call it contempt in the face of the court, not just contempt of court. Under Standing Order 107(a), as read together with (i)(a) and (iii), Hon. Wamuchomba shall serve a suspension from the House for 20 days, excluding recess days,” he said.

The suspension comes after she clashed with Murkomen after receiving what she described as unsatisfactory answers concerning the whereabouts of the Kware murder suspect, who escaped from police custody in Gigiri.
