Trans Nzoia health facility upgraded

By , April 28, 2023

The Trans Nzoia County government has launched  a multi-million-shilling project which will see Mother Baby Hospital at Tom Mboya Dispensary upgraded.

Governor George Natembeya, who presided over the ground breaking ceremony of the project which will commence next week, will cost Sh200 million and will take nine months to complete.

The projects is intended to decongest the Kitale County Referral Hospital. Natembeya said the facility has been serving as a health centre but it has been upgraded to a level four facility.

“We have been grappling with a lot of congestion at the county referral hospital and the new facility will go a long way in decongesting it. It will be independent from the main hospital and it will have its own board of management,” said Natembeya.
