Osundwa vows to boost NAKA members welfare

National Auctioneers of Kenya Association (NAKA) is scheduled to hold its elections on December 1 as it positions itself to tackle the numerous challenges facing its members head on.

At least several individuals, among them Maurice Osundwa (pictured), Paul Baraza Wamoto, George Kimetto, and Conrad Budo have declared their intentions to vie for chairmanship to replace Dennis Kirui, whose tenure has come to an end.

According to Osundwa his mission is to improve the welfare of NAK members if elected, adding that his main priority would be to tackle the challenges facing NAKA members such as security, harassment, intimidation and protection from the courts.

“Please take your time to think about members’ welfare,” he explained in a communique to his colleagues, adding: “I have been involved and touched by the health challenges facing our members including depression, stroke and bereavement. I propose to introduce a group medical cover.”

Osundwa, a career marketing consultant, further outlined ideas on how to tap into the association’s wealth of experience. “NAKA is well-ended with a wealth of experience in practice,” he added.
