Activist Omtatah loses daughter

Human rights activist Okiya Omtatah is bereaved after losing his daughter to acute malaria.

The 21-year-old was Omtatah’s third born in the family of four children, two boys and two girls.

Speaking to PD Online on April 17, Omtatah confirmed the death of his daughter who was a third year international relations student at Riara University.

In a short and brief statement by the family, the girl had been in ICU for the last one week with acute malaria.

“Just to let you know that my 21 year old little girl who was in third year at university went to the Lord yesterday at 10 pm. She has been in a comma in ICU for the last one week suffering from acute malaria,” said the statement from the family.

We wish the family well during this sorrowful period.
