Azimio leader Raila Odinga has demanded that National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula resigns as Ford Kenya leader.

Raila accused Wetang’ula of taking sides in parliamentary debates because he is still the leader of a political party.

“Parliament is no longer over sighting the Executive because the referee is never neutral is his rulings,’’ said.

He was speaking in Siritanyi village during the burial of former Bungoma South MP Lawrence Sifuna.
Raila said for Wetang’ula to be fair and a good arbitrator, he must relinquish his Ford Kenya party position.

Raila praised former Speaker Kennedy Marende as the best Speaker Kenya has had.

“Unlike Wetang’ula, Marende was someone who stuck to the law and served this country very well,” said ODM boss.

He also took a swipe at the current Members of Parliament, saying they had been held hostage.
Raila said during the days of Sifuna, MPs were firm and could not support anything that hurts the common man. He asked the MPs to be professional and stop bills that punish their people.
