Nyaribo shuffles Nyamira Cabinet, rewards clan members, loyalists

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has reshuffled his Cabinet affecting four members of his executive and bringing on board his confidants and loyalists from his Bogirango clan.
In the new look of the county Executive Committee members Nyaribo will have a new Finance minister Jones Omwenga who replaces Geoffrey Nyakoe.
Nyakoe will now be the new Gender Executive Committee member taking over from Grace Nyamongo who moves to take Omwenga’s place at the Roads and Public Works docket. Omwenga has served thrice in the finance docket during the late John Nyagarama’s regime and twice during the reign of Nyaribo.
In another reorganisation, Nyaribo too, reshuffled seven chief officers in the departments of Agriculture, Environment, Finance, Trade and Health.
The Governor moved his longtime ally and former Magombo MCA Richard Onyinkwa from the Water and Environment docket to be the chief officer in charge of Economic Planning, Resource Mobilization and ICT, replacing Asenath Maobe who will now be the Chief Officer of Finance and Accounting Services.
Wilson Moenga will move from the Health docket to become the new Chief Officer in charge of trade while Dennis Onduko whom he will be replacing will shift to Water, Irrigation and Sanitation.
Lukas Odida who was serving in the livestock and fisheries department moved to the Crops development docket to replace Mwencha Nyansimi who will move to Environment, Energy and Climate Change to replace Onyinkwa.
Joshua Marwanga who was in the Environment office will be the new accounting officer in the Department of Livestock and Fisheries.
Nyaribo, in a press statement that was circulated through his Press Secretary Beatrice Obwocha, said the reorganization came as a result of new-found zeal to enhance service delivery to residents. “The changes came in order to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery in the exercise of powers conferred upon me by the Constitution,” Nyaribo said.
