The number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has risen to 318, with the confirmation of 13 new cases late Saturday, according to health authorities.

With the latest figure, there are 238 cases of the pandemic in the country, said the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) which gave the update in a statement.

Some 70 cases have recovered from the infection, and a total of 10 deaths have been recorded so far. The pandemic has spread to a total of 19 out of 36 states in the populous African country.

The majority of the active cases are in stable condition, the NCDC said.

The local disease control center said two new laboratories have been activated in the country for COVID-19 testing. This brings the number of laboratories here to 11. (Xinhua)
