Peter Manjau, an alleged fake journalist, has been charged afresh with obtaining money by false pretense. 

Manjau was re-arrested by police on Thursday immediately after being released on bail for impersonation and fraud charges. 

Appearing before Resident Magistrate Eunice Kelly, Manjau was charged that on diverse dates between December 12, 2018 and February 15, 2019 defrauded Elizabeth Wangeci. 

The court heard that the accused obtained Sh 114,000 from Wangeci on grounds that she would help secure a job for her daughter Zipporah Muthoni in Dubai.  

He denied the charged and sought to be released on bond for the offense said to have happened in Nakuru town East. 

The magistrate in her ruling directed that the accused be released on a Sh 300,000 bond, a surety of the same amount or an alternative cash bail of Sh 200,000 pending hearing of the matter on July 29. 

“The accused may be released on a bond of Sh 300,000 or an alternative cash bail of Sh 200,000,” ruled Kelly.

Manjau woes seem to be deepening as more complainants continue to flock the police station seeking to have the accused preferred more charges. 

Apart from his charge, Manjau is facing two counts of intending to defraud former Nacada boss John Muthutho and impersonating journalists in Nakuru.
