Mohammed Ali condoles with Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi following mother’s death
By Cy Muganda, February 7, 2026Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has sent a message of condolence to Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi following the death of his mother, Ms Mwanaisha Rajab.
In a statement posted on his X account on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Mohammed Ali expressed sympathy with Mwinyi and his family, praying for strength and comfort as they navigate the loss.
“My deepest condolences to Hon. Omar Mwinyi, Member of Parliament, Changamwe Constituency and his family for the loss of his mother, Ms Mwanaisha Rajab. I pray that Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants mercy on her soul and blesses her with Jannatul Firdaus. May the family find strength in navigating this profound loss,” Ali said.
He concluded the message with the Islamic condolence phrase, “Inna Lillahi Wainna Ilayhi Rajioun. To Allah We Belong, and To Him We Will Return.”

Leaders send condolence messages
Several leaders have also joined in mourning the death of Mama Mwanaisha Rajab, describing the loss as profound and offering prayers for the bereaved family.
Mining Cabinet Secretary Ali Joho described Mwinyi as a brother and friend, saying the family should find comfort in faith during the difficult moment.
“It’s with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to my brother and friend, Changamwe MP Hon. Omar Mwinyi and his entire family following the passing of their beloved mother, Mama Mwanaisha Rajab,” Joho said.
“In this time of great sorrow and pain, may you find solace in the promise of the Hereafter. I pray that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy and wisdom, grants Mama Mwanaisha Rajab Jannah and forgives her shortcomings, and bestows patience, strength and tranquillity upon the entire family,” he added.
Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir also condoled with the Changamwe legislator, noting that he had personally visited the family.
“I paid a condolence visit to my elder brother, Hon. Omar Mwinyi (MP, Changamwe), following the passing of his beloved mother, Mama Mwanaisha Rajab,” Nassir said.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to the family during this moment of profound loss. May Allah (SWT) grant her Jannatul Firdaus and give the family strength, patience, and comfort,” he added.
EALA MP Suleiman Shahbal termed the loss of a mother as immeasurable, urging the family to remain strong.
“My heartfelt condolences to my brother Hon. Omar Mwinyi and the entire family on the passing of his beloved mother, Mama Mwanaisha Rajab,” Shahbal said.
“Losing a mother is an immeasurable loss. May Allah (SWT) grant her Jannatul Firdaus and give the family strength, patience, and comfort during this difficult time,” he added.
Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Aharub Ebrahim Khatri also sent a condolence message on behalf of the County Assembly.
“On behalf of the County Assembly of Mombasa, I extend my heartfelt condolences to my dear brother, Changamwe MP Hon. Omar Mwinyi, on the passing of his cherished matriarch, Mama Mwanaisha Rajab,” Khatri stated.
“May Allah (SWT), the Most Merciful, forgive her shortcomings, grant her the highest station in Jannatul Firdaus, and give the family patience, strength and solace during this trying time,” he concluded.
