Uneasy calm has returned to Karebe Gold Mining Company in Nandi County where three workers were killed during an explosion on January 23.

Tension has been high at the company based in Tinderet constituency following the killing of the three with 10 suspects behind the explosion being arraigned last week.

The court sitting in Kapsabet directed the suspects report weekly to the local police station until the court issues further directions. Kerebe Gold Mining Company administration manager Albert Kiplimo yesterday said that all workers had resumed duty following the incident which paralyzed activities adding that the company has also resolved that widows of the deceased will be offered employment as the company management had promised during the burial of the victims.

“We have resumed normal operations. All workers are back to work after what happened when the three men were killed,” said Kiplimo.
