Preparations for Ruto’s Mt Kenya tour
Allies of President William Ruto are expected to continue with their grassroots mobilization in preparation for his highly anticipated tour of the Mount Kenya region.
The President is set to return to the region after a six-month absence, following the impeachment of his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
Leaders are expected to traverse different regions and urge residents to turn out in large numbers to welcome the president. Among those actively engaging the locals is Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, who is keen to welcome Ruto to the area, which is considered Gachagua’s turf.
In anticipation of his visit, large billboards welcoming the president have been erected in major towns across Mount Kenya, including Kiambu, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, along Thika Road, and in Embu.
IEBC chairperson interviews
Interviews for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson will be concluded on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The process seeks to get new leadership after the seat remained vacant for over two years following the exit of the late Wafula Chebukati.
As the selection panel winds up the interviews, Lillian Wanjiku Manegene (Kirinyaga), Robert Akumu Asembo (Busia), and Saul Simiyu Wasilwa (Bungoma) will take their turn to prove their suitability.
So far, Abdulqadir Lorot Ramadhan, former Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Anne Atieno Amadi, former East African Court of Justice judge Charles Ayako Nyachae and Edward Katama Ngeywa have appeared before the panel led by Nelson Makanda.

Others are Erastus Edung Ethekon, Francis Kakai Kissinger, Jacob Ngwele Muvengei and Joy Brenda Masinde-Mdivo.

Rainfall will continue in most parts of the country on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
In a forecast report on Monday, March 24, 2025, the Kenya Meteorological Department indicated that Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya will experience isolated heavy rainfall.
Those living along the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya were advised to prepare for high daytime temperatures that could exceed 30°C over the next six days from March 31, 2025.
In the latest update, Nairobi will experience moderate temperatures ranging between 20°C and 25°C, while those in Nakuru and Eldoret will see slightly cooler conditions, averaging between 17°C and 20°C.
Epilepsy Awareness Day
Epilepsy Awareness Day is marked on March 26 yearly. It aims to increase the public’s knowledge of a neurological condition affecting nearly 50 million people worldwide.
Also known as Purple Day, people are encouraged to wear purple in support of epilepsy awareness.
The neurological condition, epilepsy, impacts the central nervous system, causing seizures and other symptoms. The types of seizures vary depending on the cause and type of epilepsy.
