Mama Rachel Ruto wins prestigious humanitarian award in India
First lady Mama Rachel Ruto was today awarded the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Bhubaneswar, India.
In her acceptance speech shared across her social media platforms, the First Lady vowed to continue championing the well-being of women, children and vulnerable groups through initiatives in financial inclusion, climate action, livelihoods and education.
She also expressed gratitude for the award and acknowledged that the honour is a tribute to the resilience and spirit of the Kenyan people, especially women.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award for 2022. This honour is a tribute to the resilience and spirit of the Kenyan people, especially our remarkable women,” she wrote.
At the same time, the First Lady also recognised the award as a testament to the unwavering commitment of individuals who work tirelessly to improve the lives of those underprivileged across the country.
“As our world faces unprecedented challenges, we must unite and share our resources to build a better future for all/ I pledge to continue working for the wellbeing of women, children and vulnerable groups through our initiatives in financial inclusion, education, livelihoods and climate action.
“Let’s join hands to build a future of hope, equality and compassion,” she wrote.
