Ledama recalls last conversation with Johana Ng’eno aboard a chopper
Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has paid tribute to the late Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno, who passed away in a tragic helicopter crash.
Speaking on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, during a Senate sitting, the Narok senator shared his last interaction with the legislator, which he recounted was two weeks before his passing.
According to Ledama, the two last met after a burial in Eldoret and boarded the same chopper back to the capital.
While paying his tribute to the late legislator, Ledama described Ng’eno as a man whose courage and dedication to the people of Narok County were highly commendable.
“I mourn a collegue a leader who I believe I was cut from the same cloth as a man whose courage and dedication to the people of Narok County, and not only the people of Emurua Dikir Constituency, is highly commendable,” Ledama said.
Ng’eno’s plans to the Maa community
At the time, Ledama recalled the conversation that Ng’eno brought forth, which he says was centred on the unity of two communities residing in Narok County.
“I remember just about two weeks ago I asked him to travel with me, and we travelled back together in a helicopter; we spoke about Narok County,” he explained.
He went on narrating who the late MP Ng’eno was to the Narok community following his subsequent quest to unite conflicting communities.
“When you listen to Johanna Ng’eno, then, all he was talking about was how to unite the Kipsigis and the Maasai together to be able to speak one,” he recalled.
Ledama revealed that they both had plans outlined on how they could actualise his dream of bringing both communities together to speak a similar language.
“I am sad because I had many plans on how we can sit together and bring both communities together,” Ledama stated.
