Leaders hail Ichung’wah’s uncompromised stance during his dad’s burial
A horde of Kenya Kwanza leaders on Monday, September 15, 2025, hailed Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungw’ah for being an uncompromising and steadfast politician.
Speaking during the burial of Ichungw’ah’s dad, Mzee Isaac Ngugi, on Monday, September 15, 2025, the leaders lauded Ichungwah for taking after his father.
National Assembly leaders Aaron Cheruiyot and Junet Mohammed from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lauded Ichungw’ah for being an honest and upfront leader.
Speaking ones mind
“They say mzee used to speak his mind. For those who know Ichungw’ah, he says things as they are; there are no grey areas for him. He says black is black and white is white. This has often landed him in trouble. For him, if he likes something, he says it, and if he doesn’t, he also says it,” Cheruiyot stated.
Embu Governor Cecil Mbarire also lauded the Kikuyu MP for his nationalistic approach to issues, stressing that he was a case of the apple that never falls far from the tree.
His sentiments were also echoed by Junet, who revealed how Ichungwah took the initiative to extend an olive branch to the ODM official after the pact of broad-based agreement.
Junet also lauded his parliamentary leadership in the parliament, stressing that Ichungw’ah has been a sober mind in a politically divided house.

Death of Isaac Ngugi
Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung’wah, passed on on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
His death elicited an outpouring of emotions, with President William Ruto leading the nation in mourning the patriarch.
Ruto extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late patriarch.
He described him as an industrious and astute businessman who played a pivotal role in the development of Kikuyu Town.
“Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends for the passing of Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah. He was an industrious and astute businessman and one of the brains that founded of Kikuyu Town,” Ruto wrote.
“Mzee touched many lives through his many transformative initiatives that supported the vulnerable. His legacy will live on. Rest In Peace, Mzee.”
