Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned what he described as a rising culture of violence and intimidation against professionals in Kenya. Stating on his official X account on Friday, September 12, 2025, Musyoka addressed the tragic death of advocate Mathew Kyalo Mbobu and urged for justice.

“Today, I joined my colleagues in the legal fraternity during the Law Society of Kenya Purple Ribbon March,” Musyoka said, describing the gathering of lawyers and professionals who came together to honour the memory of Kyalo Mbobu.

Musyoka highlighted that the attack on Kyalo was not just an assault on one individual but a threat to the wider professional community.

“The tragic loss of Kyalo is not just an attack on advocates, it is an attack on every professional in this country who serves with honesty and dedication,” he said.

He expressed concern over what he called a systematic targeting of professionals, warning against remaining silent in the face of such actions.

“We cannot allow this regime to pick off professionals one by one as we stand by in silence. We are saying ‘Enough is Enough!’” Musyoka added.

The former vice president emphasised the broader implications of the march, calling it a stand for the rule of law and justice. “Our march was a reminder that the rule of law must be defended and that justice must prevail for Kyalo and for all who dare to stand for what is right,” Musyoka said.

Musyoka’s comments bring to light a growing concern among professionals about safety and accountability in the country.

He also used the platform to rally support for collective action, signalling that professionals must unite to protect themselves and the principles they serve. Musyoka’s message reflects a call for vigilance and advocacy in ensuring that the rights and safety of professionals are upheld.

The Purple Ribbon March, as described by Musyoka, served as both a tribute to Kyalo Mbobu and a public declaration that attacks on professionals will not go unchallenged. Through his participation and statements, Musyoka emphasised that justice, accountability, and the defence of lawful service remain critical for the country.
