Kirinyaga Woman Representative Jane Njeri Maina, has revealed that she has been hospitalised.

In a brief statement shared with her followers on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the first-term legislator said she was recovering well and expected to be discharged soon.

“Hello everyone.

“I would like to notify you that I am a bit unwell but recovering.

“I expect to be discharged soon and appreciate your prayers and well wishes,” Njeri Maina wrote.

She did not disclose the illness that led to her hospitalisation or the facility where she is receiving treatment.

Gacheri says she is recovering

The UDA lawmaker appealed for prayers from her supporters as she continues receiving treatment.

Her message attracted goodwill from supporters, with many wishing her a quick recovery.

The update comes as Gacheri remains one of the most active political voices from Kirinyaga County.

Comes days after political message

The hospitalisation comes just two days after Njeri Maina reflected on her political journey, saying she had overcome doubts about her leadership.

“When I said I’m vying, people I knew said I couldn’t win the UDA ticket. I won.

They said I couldn’t win the election. I won.

They said I couldn’t transfer that into progressive leadership. I did.

“Best WR. Four years in a row,” she wrote.

She thanked Kirinyaga residents for their continued support, saying their confidence in her had helped shape her political journey.

“What would I do without you all that love me; and most importantly the great people of Kirinyaga County who have relentlessly placed their bet on me. If God’s got this, you can’t fight it,” she added.
