Kipipiri MP Muhia breaks silence after being heckled in front of Gachagua
Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia has broken her silence after being booed by constituents in front of her party leader, Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, she condemned the incident and linked it to external forces who, according to her, wanted to disrupt their peaceful roadside rally.
She further stated that intelligence reports reaching her indicated that goons had been hired to disrupt the meeting and paint the DCP party in a bad light, adding that she was grateful their plans did not succeed.

“However, I do regret the incident of external forces wanting to disrupt our peaceful meeting in Miharati town. We, the people of Kipipiri, are known to be peacemakers. Our intelligence points to external forces who had planned and hired goons to disrupt our meeting and paint the DCP party and its leadership negatively. We thank God their evil machinations did not succeed,” Wanjiku stated.
She emphasised that the people of Kipipiri are known to be peacemakers and that intelligence pointed to external forces determined to disrupt their meeting and tarnish the image of the DCP party and its leadership.
She expressed gratitude that their efforts failed and assured the people of Kipipiri and its leadership that they would never be intimidated into silence.
She reaffirmed that Kipipiri is known for its unique culture of peace and vowed not to be the leader to change this treasure that has existed for decades. She urged Kipipiri residents to reject any leader who goes against the community’s traditions and practices of being peace-loving people.
“Finally, I would like to assure the people of Kipipiri and its entire leadership that we shall never accept being intimidated so as not to express ourselves. Kipipiri is known for its unique culture of peace, and I will not be the leader to change this treasure, which has been there for decades. I urge Kipipirians to reject any leader who may go contrary to our tradition and practices of peace-loving people.” She added.

Booing incident
This comes 2 days after the MP was heckled; her calls trying to persuade the crowd to respond to her chants were met with Tutam chants, leaving her with nothing to do.

At some point, with the usual way of politicians hyping the crowd, asking them who their leader is, a section of the crowd answered that it’s Ruto, and even after trying to point in Gachagua’s direction, her calls went unanswered.
