Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has declared war on drug peddlers and those dealing in illegal brews countrywide.

Prof Kindiki yesterday warned chiefs, assistant chiefs and other members of the provincial administration who abet the vices within their jurisdictions that stern action will be taken against them.

“We are facing a crisis as a nation due to alcohol and drug menace. We should put more effort into dealing with this issue. If we don’t take care, we will not have a future generation,” said Kindiki. “We are declaring total war on all people who are selling dangerous and toxic, lethal alcoholic drinks laced with poisonous chemicals to make our children zombies,” added the CS.

According to Kindiki, the government will deal with those dealing in illegal brews and drugs the same way it has dealt with bandits and terrorists.

The CS spoke when presided over the opening of the new Kesses sub-county Deputy County Commissioner’s office in Uasin Gishu.
