Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued to hold consultation meetings at his rural home in Wamunyoro, Nyeri County.

Gachagua, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, hosted a team from Samburu County, which paid him a courtesy call.

Taking to his official X account, Gachagua stated that he had listened to the team’s views and opinions on the various issues around the country and their expectations and ideas on how to deal with them.

Gachagua further stated that his interaction with the team that comprised men, women, and the youth had made him realize that Kenyans know what is going wrong in the country and that they have simple and practical suggestions of what the leaders need to do to fix what is not working.

“Today, I met a team from Samburu County and listened to their views and opinions on the various issues around our country and their expectations and ideas on how to deal with them. One of the most impressive things I have experienced during these consultations is that Kenyans know what is going wrong, and they have simple and practical suggestions of what we need to do to fix what’s not working,” Gachagua stated.

Solution to Kenya’s problems

He went ahead to state that the solutions to the problems facing the country are just within the citizens.

Gachagua also argued that together with his team, they would reorient the country’s political discourse.

“Essentially, the solutions to our problems are within us. All we need to do is ensure that every Kenyan feels part of the process we are embarking on. We will re-orient our political discourse. The consultations continue,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua meets pastors

The meeting comes two days after Gachagua convened a meeting with pastors and church ministers from different denominations at his rural home.

In a statement shared on his official social media accounts on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Gachagua said that the pastors paid him a courtesy call, adding that he benefited from their spiritual insights.

The second deputy president noted that in their meeting they also discussed the current issues and what Kenyans are saying about the direction the country should take.

Gachagua, who has been engaging and hosting various political and non-political leaders at his Wamunyoro home after impeachment, said that he will continue to consult Kenyans.

“This afternoon I was blessed to receive a team of pastors and church ministers from different denominations who called on me at the Wamunyoro Residence to pray for me and my family.

“I especially benefited from their spiritual insights on various issues happening around us, as well as their input on what the ground is saying as regards to the direction we should take as a nation. The consultations continue,” Gachagua disclosed.
