Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed talks of an alliance between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalanzo Musyoka.

During the burial of former MP Kalembe Ndile, Raila and Kalonzo hinted of a political alliance with the ODM leader saying he would not mind working with Kalonzo.

“Mimi na Kalonzo hatuwezi kosana. Mimi na Kalonzo tutashikana tutoe hawa wezi, fisi waliovalia ngozi ya kondoo,” Raila said.

In a rejoinder, Ruto told the duo to focus on an agenda that will benefit Kenyans instead of uniting to scuttle his 2022 presidential bid.

“I want to tell them to first get an agenda that will benefit Kenyans instead of coming together to defeat me,” Ruto said while addressing a political gathering in Tala, Makueni County on Saturday, June 12.

The DP stated that Kenya as a nation is not for politicians and that needs of citizens should be given a priority.

Ruto further asked the leaders to dismantle NASA and form a political outfit and face him.

“I am giving them free advice. They are saying they are uniting and they have about 100 parties. Let them collapse their parties and form one, like ours so that we can compete,” Ruto said.

While sending of the former Tip Tip MP in Ukambani on Friday, Kitui governor asked Kalonzo and Raila to work together as they did in 2003.

“When we came together in 2003, we sent President Daniel Arap Moi out of office by 4pm. The two of you should unite so that this other person doesn’t win,” Ngilu said while referring to Ruto, adding that she did not want to get into a wheelbarrow.
