Kenya Railways opens applications for senior management jobs
By Emmanuel Rono, April 13, 2026Kenya Railways (KR) has invited applications from qualified individuals to fill nine senior management positions at Grade RG3 as the Standard Gauge Railway expansion plans continue to gain momentum across the country.
According to the recruitment drive notice posted by the corporation on Monday, April 13, 2026, the positions include a mix of new roles and re-advertisements for existing vacancies.
Among the positions being re-advertised are critical roles such as Rail Safety Manager, Passenger Services Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, and Signaling, Electrical & Communication Manager.
Additionally, the corporation is looking to fill three newly established positions: Stores & Inventory Manager, Train Operations Manager, and Accounts Manager.
All positions are in grade RG3, with each role offering one vacancy. Some positions have been re-advertised, while others are newly introduced.
Kenya Railways said applicants must submit a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, and a copy of a national identification document or passport.
Key requirements
The corporation has stated that shortlisted candidates will be required to present Chapter Six clearance documents, including a certificate of good conduct, a tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority, clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board, a report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau, and clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The railway body further insists that copies of academic and professional certificates must accompany each application, together with a National ID or Passport copy.
Further, the corporation stated that any application missing these documents will not be considered.
“Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates during interviews,” Kenya Railways stated.
The deadline for applications is April 28, 2026, at 5.00 pm.
Strict application requirements
To be considered, candidates must be Kenyan citizens and provide a comprehensive set of documents, including a signed application letter, a detailed CV with three professional referees, and copies of academic and professional certificates.
Kenya Railways has reaffirmed its mandate and strategic direction as it seeks to strengthen rail and inland waterways transport across the country.
