Kenya Power lists areas to be affected by blackout on Tuesday, March 24
Residents across several parts of the country are advised to brace for planned electricity interruptions on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) announced a scheduled network maintenance exercise affecting at least 50 areas.
In a public notice posted on their social media handles on the evening of Monday, March 23, 2026, the KPLC has said the outages will run between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm in most locations, with a few areas experiencing shorter interruptions ending at 4:00 pm.
KPLC has noted that the maintenance is aimed at improving service reliability and stabilising the power network.
“Good Evening. The listed area will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (24th March 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. Areas within Nairobi and Kiambu counties
In Nairobi, the blackout will affect Kamumbi and Rapta Road areas. The key areas that are expected to experience outages include Golf Sports Ground, Karura Health Centre, Rapta Road, Lantana Road, Ring Road Westlands, and surrounding neighbourhoods.
In Kiambu County, areas like Kirigiti, Migaa, and parts of Ndumberi are scheduled for power cuts, impacting residential and institutional customers.
Meanwhile, in the wider Mt. Kenya region, parts of Nyeri County, including Mahiga, Ndunyu, and Hubuini will experience outages affecting markets, schools, and trading centres. Neighbouring Kirinyaga County areas such as Mwea, Thiba, and Roka will also be affected.
Other Counties across regions hit
The interruptions will also extend to parts of Bomet County in the Central Rift region, including Kapkwen, Tarakwa, and Makimeny areas, where power will be off from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
In South Nyanza, sections of Homa Bay County such as Ogande, Wiga, and Lorateng will be affected, with key facilities like Kabunde Airstrip and county offices listed among impacted locations.

At the Coast, sections of Mombasa County, particularly Mishomoroni and Kashani, will face day-long interruptions affecting key installations such as Coast General Hospital, Kiembe ni Police Station, and surrounding estates.
Kenya Power has advised customers in the listed areas to plan accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period. The company emphasised that the scheduled
