KeNHA announces closure of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni to Ngong Road

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of the Nairobi Southern Bypass from the Ole Sereni interchange to Ngong Road interchange.

The closure will start from Tuesday December 24, 2024, at 8.00 pm to Sunday January 5, 2025 Midnight.

In a statement on Monday, December 23, 2024, KeNHA announced the closure is to enable the rehabilitation of the expansion joints of all the bridges along the closed section as well as reconstruction of concrete pavement of the virtual weighbridge.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public that a section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange (both carriageways) shall be temporarily closed,” KeNHA stated.

“This is to enable the rehabilitation of the expansion joints of all the bridges along the closed section as well as reconstruction of concrete pavement of the Virtual Weighbridge. The closure will commence on Tuesday December 24, 2024, at 8.00 pm to Sunday January 5, 2025 Midnight.”

KeNHA has directed all traffic to be diverted through Mombasa Road (A8) Highway, Lang’ata Road and Ngong Road as an alternative route during the period.

“Motorists are requested to exercise caution around the work areas, to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA added.
