Kanga’ta heads to US as county to host key investment conference

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata is set to visit the US for two key investment conferences to promote the county as an industrial hub.
Kang’ata told People Daily the conference will focus on investment opportunities available in the county, particularly in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, recreation and sports.
The two events are slated to be held in Washington DC and Boston.
“The first meeting will be in Washington on Saturday, April 26 at from 2pm, while on Sunday, April 27, a meetup will be held at KCIC-Pacific Highway, Federal Way, at 2pm,” Kang’ata said.
The climax of the two events will be an investment conference that has been themed ‘Unlocking Murang’a as an Industrial Hub’. It will be conducted on June 13- June14, at Thika Greens Golf Resort, Murang’a.
“The Murang’a Investment Conference 2025 creates a platform that brings together investors, business people, government representatives and industry leaders to unlock various opportunities, particularly the manufacturing sector within Murang’a County,” Kang’ata said.
Kang’ata said industries in agro-processing sector are encouraged to attend and consider investing.
The US conferences and the investment forum in Murang’a, he said, will showcase viable investment opportunities across key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, health and technology.
It will further attract private capital from local and international entities to invest in various opportunities in Murangá County and provide a networking platform for investors and policy makers.
The events are further expected to help build long-term partnerships that create jobs and accelerate Murang’a County development.
Kang’ata was upbeat the forums will help in ‘onboarding’ local, foreign and diaspora investors and open the devolved unit as an investment destination.
