Former Vice President and Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has paid tribute to the late Mzee Muhia Njoroge in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, highlighting his courage, integrity, and lifelong dedication to justice and equality.

In a statement on X on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, Kalonzo emphasised the lasting impact of the late leader on both the community and the nation.

“I feel deeply honoured to stand here this afternoon in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, to say farewell to our Shujaa, Mzee Muhia Njoroge, in a place where the true spirit of freedom and courage has always lived,” Kalonzo said.

Muhia’s leadership

He described Mzee Muhia as a figure whose life story continues to inspire Kenyans to strive for honest leadership and dignity in public service.

“Mzee Muhia’s life was one of integrity, sacrifice, and firm belief in justice and equality for all. His story is an inspiration to a nation yearning for honest leadership and dignity in public service,” Kalonzo added.

Addressing the gathering, Kalonzo also spoke about the principles that should guide Kenya’s future leaders, emphasising governance that upholds institutions and public trust. He called for leadership rooted in accountability and service.

“As your Government-in-Waiting, we commit ourselves to truth, to the rule of law, and to leadership that respects institutions, not personal rule, not intimidation, and not the politics of Rutobottomism that places self-power above the people,” he said.

He further pledged that his political movement would maintain integrity and transparency in its approach to governance, committing to honesty and service for all Kenyans. He promised that the example set by Mzee Muhia’s life will guide their leadership philosophy.

“We will not lie to the people of Kenya, and we will lead with integrity, compassion, and accountability,” Kalonzo said

The tribute was attended by family members, local leaders, and community residents, all of whom gathered to celebrate the legacy of a man remembered for his courage, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to justice.
