Kalonzo extends Wiper Party roots with new office in Malindi
By Mabonga Makhanu, November 18, 2025United opposition leaders have joined Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in launching party offices in Malindi.
This happened on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, while being accompanied by United Opposition leaders en route to Magarini to help campaign for the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Karrisa Kenga in the upcoming November 27 by-elections.
The entourage was led by Kalonzo Musyoka, Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Jane Njeri, and Magarini DCP candidate Karissa Kenga was also among them.

They were welcomed to the new offices, which are set to act as party headquarters in Malindi, amid chants and cheers by Wiper members who had convened to witness the launch.
Kalonzo later led the leaders in cutting the tape and was the first to sign the visitors’ book before his counterparts followed.
They went on to address the eager crowd while en route to Magarini to help campaign for their United Opposition joint candidate.
Kalonzo reminded them that their mission of liberating the country from the claws of President William Ruto is still on course, as reflected in their WANTAM slogan, as he also welcomed the United Opposition entourage to his new offices.

“Wangapi wanasema WANTAM? Tumefungua ofisi ya Wiper hapa na nimeandamana na wenzangu hapa wa United Opposition,” Kalonzo said.
DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa told the Wiper members that their sole mission is to ensure that the United Opposition wins in the upcoming polls in the areas where they have fielded candidates, starting with Magarini Constituency, where they were heading to popularise Stanley Kenga.
He further said that all signs are pointing towards a United Opposition win against Broad-Based Government candidates in the upcoming byelections.
Cleophas Malala was in for his party boss, Rigathi Gachagua, who missed the launch since he has vowed to pitch camp in Mbeere North until his candidate, Newton Karish, wins the race against the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, Leonard Mwirigi, in the hotly contested Mbeere North by-election, where the state has deployed all its resources.
Malala’s remarks
Malala urged Wiper members and all Malindi locals to use the office to advance the agenda of the United Opposition.
He added that if they have any issues regarding the United Opposition, they should relay them through the office.
He also conveyed Gachagua’s greetings.
“Leo hii tumekuja kufungua ofisi ya Wiper, na tunawapongeza sana, na watu wa Malindi wote mkitaka kuleta mambo ya United Opposition tuko na ofisi ya Wiper hapa,” he said.
He also expressed confidence in the United Opposition scooping a majority of seats in the upcoming by-election.
