The Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, presented a special package to Ida Odinga during the burial of Beryl Achieng’ Odinga, the sister of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Kalonzo was pictured handing over the package in a small, branded white gift bag, and Ida Odinga was recorded flipping through what was inside.

In a statement shared after the funeral, Kalonzo explained that he gave Ida a collection of photographs reflecting on his visit to Opoda Farm on November 6, 2025.

According to Kalonzo, the photo collection further showed the journey he shared with the late Raila Odinga and the entire Odinga family.

He explained that the special gift was in honour of Odinga’s family and their sacrifices towards the nation.

“In the spirit of reflection and gratitude, I presented to Mama Ida Odinga our Jowi Thank You Tribute, a collection of photographs from our visit to Opoda Farm on November 6, 2025,” Kalonzo stated.

“These images do more than preserve a moment that will stay with me forever; they reflect a part of our shared journey with my brother, Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, and the entire Odinga family. Their sacrifice, resilience, and steady commitment to putting Kenya First have never wavered, even in difficult moments, and they continue to shape our nation’s story,” he added.

“This Tribute was a small gesture of appreciation for a family that has given so much to Kenya.”

Beryl’s burial

Beryl was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, Bondo, in a solemn ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners from across the political divide.

The funeral, held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga homestead, drew national leaders, dignitaries, family, and friends who gathered to honour a woman whose life was marked by intellect, courage, and unwavering principle.

In a deeply emotional tribute, Ida Odinga recounted her final visit to Beryl in the hospital.

“I went to see Beryl in the hospital, and she could not talk, and she had many gadgets on her, and I was very disappointed. And there I found her children,” Ida recalled.

“So when I went back home, I told Raila, ‘Don’t go and see Beryl now; she is not okay,’ because I did not want Raila to see Beryl in that condition, because I knew it would kill him, because they were very close.”
