Kakamega Homeboyz yesterday completed their signings of the season before they kick off their campaign against AFC Leopards on Sunday.

The Bukhungu-based lads have penned 11 players to bolster the side as they hope to challenge for the title. The club’s chairman Cleophas Shimanyula revealed they had completed their signings after a very successful trial and pre-season period.

“It’s in the spirit of investing in the youth and also balancing with experience as we aim to blend a formidable team that will be ready to challenge any side in the league,” Shimanyula told People Sport, adding: “Kakamega Homeboyz has set up targets and we believe from what we have acquired from the market is perfect to jump start our ambition of winning the league this season though we are aware that we will need to work very hard.”

The players include defenders Charles Okiya Vincent Mahaga both from Chemelil, Andrew Waiswa from Sony, midfielders Chris Masinza, Steven Wakhanya from Vihiga United together with Steven Etiyang, Dennis Nandwa who both left Nzoia FC.

Strikers Ronald Omino from Sony will be joined by schoolboys Lawrence Otieno of Lugusi, and Emmanuel Emuhe Sosi from Ebwali, Mwinyi Shami formerly with KCB completes the list.
