NTSA warns Kenyans against fake service information, issues official contact list
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has cautioned Kenyans against relying on unofficial sources for information about its services, warning that misinformation could mislead motorists and other road users seeking assistance.
In a public advisory issued on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Authority urged members of the public to obtain information only through its verified communication channels, including its website, official social media accounts, email addresses and customer support lines.
“For information relating to any NTSA service, we strongly urge the public to rely exclusively on official communication issued directly by the Authority through its official channels/platforms,” the Authority said.
The advisory comes amid growing concerns over the spread of false information online, with scammers increasingly impersonating government agencies to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

Official NTSA support channels
To help motorists and other service users access accurate information, NTSA released a comprehensive list of official contact points for various services.
For motor vehicle inspection enquiries, members of the public were advised to use [email protected], while matters relating to vehicle registration, ownership transfers, number plate applications and registration services should be directed to [email protected].
The Authority said enquiries relating to vehicle licensing, Smart Driving Licence (Smart DL) applications, driving licence record updates, Public Service Vehicle (PSV) badges, PSV SACCO matters and Road Service Licence (RSL) or Transport Service Licence (TSL) support should be sent to [email protected].
Driving school licensing, Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) applications, driver test bookings, driving test updates and driving licence class endorsements will be handled through [email protected].
For general correspondence, complaints and integrity matters, NTSA directed the public to use [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected], respectively.
The Authority also listed its customer care contacts as 0709 932 300 and 0709 932 000 for service support and enquiries.

Verified digital platforms
The NTSA also urged Kenyans to verify information through its official digital platforms before acting on any messages claiming to originate from the Authority.
According to the advisory, official service notifications are sent only through the verified SMS sender names NTSA and 22847_NTSA.
The Authority further identified its official social media platforms as NTSA KENYA on Facebook and @ntsa_kenya on X, while directing members of the public to obtain online services and official updates through its website, www.ntsa.go.ke.

In addition, Kenyans seeking in-person assistance were encouraged to visit the nearest NTSA office or the NTSA Help Desk at any Huduma Centre across the country.
Fight against misinformation
The advisory highlights NTSA’s ongoing efforts to combat misinformation and protect members of the public from fraudsters who often exploit digital platforms by circulating fake notices, impersonating government officials or advertising non-existent services.
The Authority urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and verify any information relating to vehicle registration, inspections, licensing or other transport services through its official communication channels before making payments or sharing personal information.
NTSA reiterated that relying on verified sources is the best way to ensure members of the public receive accurate information and legitimate support for all services offered by the Authority.
