Gachagua’s son showers his mother with praise during her coronation as Reverend
By Mabonga Makhanu, November 15, 2025Keith Ikinu Gachagua, the son of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, delivered an emotional tribute to his mother, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, during her installation as a Reverend.
The event, held at their Wamunyoro home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, brought together family, friends, clergy, and supporters who gathered to witness her transition into a higher clerical calling.
Overcoming visible nervousness, Keith spoke candidly about his mother’s lifelong devotion to service, describing her as a guiding force in both their family and the wider community.

He reflected on his upbringing under her care, noting her patience, commitment, and the values she instilled in him from childhood.
To him, the ordination marked the culmination of years of dedication that began within their home and gradually expanded into a ministry that touches lives across the country.
“As I grew, I came to watch that same love and service overflow beyond our home. Her desire to assist others, rooted deeply in our faith, led her to reach those who needed it most: the widows, the orphans, and, of course, the boy child who often goes unseen and uncared for. I remember when I was younger, she was known as ‘Mama Gachagua,'” Ikunu stated.
Keith highlighted how Pastor Dorcas’ compassion extends far beyond her household. Her work among widows, orphans, and especially the boy child – a group she has championed with passion and consistency – has earned her recognition as ‘Mama Boys’, a testament to her growing influence in community outreach.

“Now she is known as Mama Boys, a mother to all as she expands her ministry to touch lives,” he said
He described how people warmly welcome her wherever she travels, eager to connect with her and share in her mission to uplift the vulnerable.

Gachagua’s perspective
During the ceremony, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also affirmed his wife’s commitment to ministry, noting that the family has consistently set aside a portion of their earnings to support her clerical work.

He described her as the matriarch of their home and a spiritual anchor whose compassion and leadership continue to shape the lives of many.
