Former Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has been arrested and he is now at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi over suspected fraud.

According to a source privy to the arresting details, Echesa was allegedly arrested over a involvement in a fake gold scam.

The source further revealed that officers from the Special Service Unit (SSU) of the DCI arrested Echesa at his home in Nairobi.
