Diesel price rises by Ksh40.30 per litre, petrol shoots by Ksh28.69 in latest EPRA review
Kenyans will pay more for fuel starting April 15, 2026, after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced an increase in the maximum retail prices of petroleum products.
In a press release on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, EPRA said the new prices will be in force from April 15 to May 14, 2026.
According to the regulator, the price of Super Petrol has increased by Ksh28.69 per litre, while Diesel has gone up by Ksh40.30 per litre.
However, the price of kerosene remains unchanged during the review period.

“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol and Diesel increased by KSHs.28.69/litre and KSHs.40.30/litre respectively, while the price of Kerosene remained unchanged,” EPRA noted.

In Mombasa, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Ksh203.69, Ksh203.56 and Ksh149.49 effective midnight for the next 30 days.
Landing cost
EPRA noted that there has been a sharp increase in the average landed cost of imported fuel products.
The landed cost of Super Petrol rose by 41.53 per cent between February and March 2026, while Diesel increased by 68.72 per cent.
Kerosene recorded the highest jump, rising by 105.15 per cent over the same period.
“The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increased by 41.53% from US$582.11 per cubic metre in February 2026 to US$823.87 per cubic metre in March 2026; Diesel increased by 68.72% from US$636.45 per cubic metre to US$1073.2 per cubic metre while Kerosene increased by 105.15% from US$639.48 per cubic metre to US$1311.93 per cubic metre over the same period,” EPRA stated.
EPRA further noted that the government will cushion the consumers through the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) fund by utilising approximately Ksh6.2 billion to stabilise the pump prices.
EPRA also clarified that the Super Petrol delivered by One Petroleum through the MT Paloma has not been included in the computation of the new fuel prices.
“We wish to reiterate that as per the earlier directive from Government, the Super Petrol delivered by One Petroleum ex MT Paloma has not been included in the computation of the applicable prices,” EPRA stated.
