By , July 30, 2021

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has received a dose of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.

After receiving the jab on Friday, Raila called on Kenyans to get vaccinated whenever they get a chance to do it.

“This afternoon I got the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine jab. Having been a victim of this deadly virus I urge all those who are currently eligible for vaccination to get vaccinated,” he said.

He also called on the government to unveil enough number of doses so that Kenyans can receive the vaccine.

“I appeal to the government to make concrete arrangements for mass vaccination once the vaccines land and, I also strongly encourage Kenyans to feel free to take the jab. We will overcome the virus,” he added.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2.2 per cent of Kenyan adults have received both doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
