Clerics call on politicians to allow State implement agenda

Clerics have called on opposition politicians to exercise patience and allow the government time to implement its development agenda and deliver on its promises to the Kenyans.
The clerics emphasised the importance of unity, tolerance and constructive engagement in addressing socioeconomic challenges.
They cautioned against persistent political wrangling, which they said threatens national cohesion and derails progress.
The bishops under the umbrella of the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya (FEICCK) said that while accountability is vital in any democracy, constant politicking and early 2027 succession debates are counterproductive.
Led by Bishop Ngacha Njiriri, the FEICCK chairperson, the clerics urged politicians to put the interests of Kenyans above personal ambitions.
“Oversight is necessary, but it should not be used as a tool to sabotage progress. Kenyans are struggling and the only government that can deliver for them is the existing oneit should be given time and space to serve. If it fails, Kenyans have the capacity to take the current leadership at home come 2027 but before then, politicians should allow the people to enjoy its services,” said Njiriri.
The religious leaders also acknowledged the economic hardship facing many Kenyans and encouraged the government to prioritise policies that directly alleviate the burden of high living costs, unemployment, and food insecurity.
“Let us give the President time to serve us. The daily politicking is unhealthy and will only hurt Kenyans who desperately require services. Let us, even as we pray for all leaders, allow the government of the day to serve,” Vashti Wanjiru, a cleric, stated.
They at the same time, beseeched the youth against being misused to settle political scores and urged them to an end to inflammatory rhetoric, especially on social media and political platforms, noting that such discourse stokes division.
The clerics who spoke during a religious leaders meeting further pledged to support national unity initiatives and offered to mediate between rival political factions to foster consensus on critical national issues
