Bance sinks Bandari but Kenyan side score two
Guinea football legend Aristide Bance hit a hat-trick as Kenya’s battling outfit Bandari succumbed 4-2 to Horoya in Confederation Cup first leg playoff in Conakry last night.
Bandari has a chance to overturn the result at home in next weekend’s return leg where they only require two goals without a reply to bundle out Horoya and book a place in the group stage.
The Kenyan club fought from two goals down to level scores at half-time before Horoya added two goals without reply in the second half to win 4-2. Bance stunned the Kenya club as he got on the score sheet immediately after kick-off with a sublime finish.
Bandari were all at sea when they conceded a second goal in the 10th minute from a swiftly taken corner but maverick midfielder Abdalla Hassan halved the deficit after twenty-five minutes, meeting Darius Msagha’s perfectly weighted cross to score.
Industrious Ugandan William Wadri then pulled Bandari level in added time of first half planting a fierce shot in the top corner after midfielder Collins Agade teed him up.
The Kenya club soaked more pressure upon resumption hoping to maintain parity but Bance grabbed his second of the game five minutes into the second half to send Horoya 3-2 up.
