If there’s anything the three election cycles of US President-elect Donald Trump have very clearly demonstrated, it is that Americans are not yet ready for a woman as their commander-in-chief.

Let’s start with 2016 when Trump lined up against Hillary Clinton. Hillary was a child of the establishment. A Washington insider whose husband was a very popular ex-president.

She was a senator for New York, wealthy and very well-known in the US. She was a shoo-in for the presidency. Headlines were even written about her groundbreaking feat even before the elections were held.

Trump, on the other hand, was a rank outsider who nobody expected was going anywhere. Though he was very well known through his business antics and television reality shows, he had zero political experience. The entire Washington establishment, from mainstream media to big tech, to Hollywood, name it, became hysterical in their opposition to his candidacy. Americans were faced with two very unlikeable candidates. Wonder of wonders, Trump won! Americans refused to take their first real chance of electing a woman president.

In 2020, Trump lined up against another child of the establishment, Joe Biden. Biden was on the verge of dropping out of the primaries due to dismal performance when the party apparatus took over and ensured he was coronated.

Biden never even campaigned. They kept him in the basement to shield him from media interrogation because of his clearly evident cognitive decline. The same Washington establishment closed ranks against Trump again. In fact, the establishment went into overdrive. The result was a very sloppy election that was contested for months. But Americans, given two imperfect male candidates, preferred the establishment president. Biden beat Trump.

Come the third Trump cycle in 2024, when he lined up against the incumbent vice president, Kamala Harris, the same Washington/Democratic establishment ganged up against him. This time, the establishment even deployed the full force of the Justice Department by weaponising the criminal justice system against him.

Americans, faced again with two unlikeable candidates, decided to go with Trump.

In all three cycles, Trump and his opponents were very unlikeable candidates. Americans, however, found enough reason to side with Trump against the women candidates as opposed to when he ran against a male candidate. It is noteworthy that Trump’s electoral platform has never changed, neither has that of his Democrat opponents.

For now, that glass ceiling remains intact. Worse, it will probably be a long while before either the Republican or Democratic parties in America can manouevre another woman candidate to within striking distance of the presidency.

There were other key takeouts from that election. The complete rubbishing of pollsters by the actual results means that they are actually useless. For months they harped about how neck to neck the race was. In fact, Trump comprehensively steamrollered Harris. Either, the pollsters knew what the truth was but decided to become a propaganda tool for the Democratic Party, or they did not have a clue and were completely at sea. In either case, Americans must demand accountability because pollsters are simply fooling people. Pollsters clearly must be regulated.

The mainstream media in America is hanging its collective head in shame. They were hysterical about what a terrible choice Trump was, and how he should not be elected. Americans gave them the middle finger.

Instead, the new king of electioneering, and conversely the media space, is social media. Podcasts emerged as a very potent political force. Will the mainstream media heed the harsh rebuke from the people?

Finally, Americans have completely repudiated wokeness. The democratic progressive, liberal agenda of LBGTG+, transgenderism, divisive identity politics, gender affirmation, open borders, men in women sports, and soft-on-crime district attorneys was buried under an electoral avalanche.

Worse, Trump will get an opportunity to probably nominate two more Supreme Court justices, embedding a conservative majority for decades to come.
