List of leaders who have injected fresh energy into Panyako’s Malava home-stretch campaigns
With a few days remaining to the by-elections slated for Thursday, November 27, 2025, a crop of young politicians and MPs have injected fresh energy to help propel Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Chair Seth Panyako, who is vying on a Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) ticket, to the National Assembly and replace the late former area MP Malulu Injendi.
Seth Panyako, who is competing against Kabras West Member of County Assembly and Kakamega County Assembly Minority Leader David Ndakwa, has been receiving support from various leaders such as Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.

Young MPs who maintained a low profile at the start of the campaigns have now actively joined the effort to campaign for him.
Caleb Amisi
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, who is also a member of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s Kenya Moja MPs caucus, has joined the campaign trail.
Over the recent past, he seems to be taking a different stance from that of his party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). On Friday, November 21, 2025, after a meeting of their Kenya Moja caucus in Kisii, he went straight to Malava to back Seth Panyako.

During his address at Malava Primary, where he met an already charged crowd, Amisi stated that just as his DAP-K party supported ODM in 2022, they should return the favour by supporting DAP-K in the Malava by-election.
He insisted that the parting respect the Orange Party can give to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is to support Seth Panyako in the upcoming mini-polls. He also delivered greetings from Edwin Sifuna but did not clarify whether he personally supports Panyako’s bid.
Wamboka
Bumula MP Jack Wamboka, who was elected on a DAP-K ticket and has been very critical of the state, also joined Seth Panyako’s campaign trail during last-minute efforts to solicit support. In 2022, Panyako was defeated by the late Malulu with a margin of 2,000 votes.
Onyonka
Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, who has rallied behind Jubilee Party’s presidential nominee Fred Matiangi, also joined the campaign trail on Friday, November 21, 2025, during the United Opposition campaigns in the area.
Kibagendi
Kitutu Chache MP Antony Kibagendi has declared his support for Seth Panyako, although he was not present during the campaigns in Malava.
Agnetta Mwangale

Agnetta Mwangale, an aspirant for the Bungoma Woman Representative position in 2027, though not widely recognised publicly but well known in the region, has also been part of the campaign trail in the past weeks.
She rose to prominence in 2024/2025 after going from house to house and funeral to funeral announcing her intentions to vie for the Woman Rep position and urging the younger generation to back her bid.
She has been seen campaigning alongside DAP-K party boss Eugene Wamalwa, even riding on car rooftops during rallies.
Salasya
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya was among the first MPs to throw his weight behind Seth Panyako and has visited the constituency numerous times to popularise his bid.
Brian lishenga

Rural Urban Private Hospitals Authority (RUPHA) Chair Brian Lishenga has also been active on the campaign trail for the past three weeks, urging Malava locals to support Seth Panyako, just as they did in 2022 when he vied for the Kakamega Senatorial seat, which he lost to Boni Khalwale.
Former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi, who has roots in the county and is reportedly eyeing the Westlands seat after recently leaving the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has also joined the campaign. On Friday, he joined the campaign trail, making a few stopovers within the constituency, donning his military fatigue apron while campaigning for Seth Panyako, among others like Advocate Ndegwa Njiru.
