Zack Kinuthia: We have no zoning plans in any elective position in Jubilee party
Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary General Zack Kinuthia has dismissed claims that the Jubilee Party plans to zone elective seats ahead of the 2027 General Election, assuring aspirants that the party will conduct free and fair nominations across the country.
Speaking in an interview with a local TV station on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Kinuthia said that in the lead-up to the next general elections, the Jubilee party will contest in all the regions and allow every interested aspirant to contest on the party ticket.
“The Jubilee Party will be fielding candidates across the country. I want to remove worries from all aspirants who want to vie for a Jubilee ticket that there will be zoning in the Jubilee Party. We have no plans to do zoning in any elective positions,” Kinuthia said.

United alternative government candidature
Kinuthia further said that the search for the top job in the country was still ongoing among the United Alternative Government side, involving possible future talks with coalition partners. He stated that the situation remains to be settled and leaders will inform once the decision is made.
“When the negotiations are open, I will know because the decision is not yet made. At the top elective position where I will not be sitting in the negotiations, we shall know,” Kinuthia added.
Kinuthia reiterated that the party has already appointed a presidential candidate and is focusing on the former Cabinet secretary for interior, Fred Matiang’i, for the 2027 elections, adding that he is still a key figure in the party’s political blueprint.
Free and fair nominations in Jubilee
Kinuthia has further disclosed that the former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy Party Leader Matiang’i have assured all aspirants that the nomination process would be transparent, credible and non-favourable.

“Our leaders, including the party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy party leader Fred Matiang’i, have assured the aspirants of free and fair nominations,” Kinuthia asserted.
The Jubilee official also appealed to the Kenyans to vote for those who would deliver and not based on political party.
