The United Opposition, led by former Deputy President and the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, has focused on clinching the Member of Parliament (MP) seats in Mbeere North and Magarini in the November 27, 2025, by-election.

For the better part of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Gachagua combed the villages in Mbeere North, drumming up support for Democratic Party candidate Newton Karish. Taking to X, Gachagua said the residents of Mbeere North are looking forward to voting for Karish.

Gachagua pitches camp in Mbeere North

”I am with the villagers every step of the way, one by one, home by home, village by village, in a motif to liberate one nation, Kenya. I had an interactive experience on my morning walk on a vote drive for my favourite candidate, Newton Karish, who is a people-centred candidate,” Gachagua said.

Later in the day, Gachagua and the team sought support for Newton Karish at Kageeri Shopping Centre in Nthawa Ward, Mbeere North, where the former DP said, ”You have a date with destiny. The misuse of public funds to fuel corruption and bribery must come to an end. Our resources must be used strictly for the purposes for which they were intended.”

While Rigathi Gachagua has pitched camp in Mbeere North, another faction of the United Opposition, led by the Wiper Patriotic Front Party and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, is on the same mission in Magarini Constituency, seeking votes for DCP’s MP candidate Stanley Kenga.
