MP Dick Maungu: Time for service delivery, not endless politicking
Luanda Member of Parliament (MP) Dick Maungu has called on leaders to shift their focus from political campaigns to delivering development projects, saying the country is now in a season of service rather than politicking.
Speaking during a Sunday service at St. Catherine of Siena Yogo Catholic Church in Ugenya on Sunday, June 28, 226, where he joined MDG Party leader and Ugenya MP David Ouma Ochieng’ and other leaders for worship, Maungu urged elected leaders to prioritize the needs of wananchi over political rhetoric.
Maungu said his administration remains committed to transforming Luanda Constituency through tangible development projects, noting that leadership should be judged by the impact it has on people’s lives.

The legislator highlighted several national government projects being implemented in Luanda and across the country, saying they demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Kenyans.
His slogan, “Kazi Kwanza, Siasa Baadaye” (Work First, Politics Later), featured prominently throughout his address.
“There is no need to make noise, insult other leaders, or use youths for maandamano. We should be using the same energy to empower our youths and women, and to bring development to our people. It’s all about change,” Maungu said.
Support for development programmes
He urged leaders to support government development programmes to accelerate the delivery of key infrastructure projects, including electricity connectivity, roads and modern markets.

According to the MP, investments in education infrastructure and youth empowerment initiatives in Luanda are already bearing fruit and demonstrate what can be achieved when leaders focus on service delivery instead of politics.
Maungu also called on Kenyans to remain united and support initiatives that create jobs and improve livelihoods, insisting that true leadership is measured by results on the ground rather than political speeches.
