UDA intensifies grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2026 party elections
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Monday stepped up its grassroots mobilisation in Nyeri County as the party moves into a crucial phase of preparing members for its internal elections scheduled for January 10, 2026.
The sensitisation forum, held at Kagumo Teachers Training College, brought together top county leaders and senior officials from the party’s national secretariat in what UDA described as a major push to strengthen structures and energise supporters at the grassroots.

In its statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the party said Nyeri leaders turned up in full force to rally residents behind the exercise.
“UDA Party elected leaders from Nyeri County joined forces with the Secretariat for the grassroots elections sensitisation program at Kagumo Teachers Training College,” the party said.
Those present included Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga, who joined the National Elections Board Vice Chairperson Veronica Kiberenge and Sam Mwangi, the party’s Director of Logistics, for an engagement session focused on voter education, upcoming timelines and strengthening local party cells.
“The leaders engaged the local community in preparations for the party’s upcoming elections, slated for January 10, 2026,” UDA added.

A delegation of elected officials from the region also took part in the exercise.
According to the party, the sensitisation campaign is part of a broader effort across Mt. Kenya and other regions to ensure members understand the election process and the importance of participation at ward and polling centre levels.
“The event saw a strong presence from UDA leaders and party representatives,” the statement noted.

UDA said the initiative is aimed at building an active, informed and organised membership base as the ruling party heads into a highly competitive election cycle—one expected to shape its future leadership and internal cohesion.
“This campaign marks a critical step in UDA’s ongoing efforts to engage directly with its members, ensuring a strong, informed, and active membership base as they approach the upcoming election cycle,” the party said.
