Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has spelt doom for several leaders from Bungoma, led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, saying that in 2027 they should all be voted out.

While speaking at the home of United Opposition spokesman Mukhisa Kituyi during a meeting between him and the Council of Elders, the outspoken Linda Mwananchi team leader emphasised that Wetang’ula and a section of leaders allied to the Ford Kenya party boss, especially those who supported the Nzoia Sugar takeover, should all be edged out in 2027.

Overhaul in Bungoma leadership

Sifuna continued to state that in 2027, there must be a complete overhaul, starting with the Speaker, whom he referred to as “Number 3″, then the Senator, who is also an ally of the Speaker, and MPs.

He added that if any of these leaders also supported the Nzoia Sugar sale and voted in favour of the Finance Bill in 2024, they should all be rejected and voted out in the upcoming election.

Watu wengi wanaenda nyumbani; kama wewe ulikuwa mbunge hapa Bungoma, wakati Nzoia inauzwa na haukusema kitu, 2027 unaenda nyumbani. unasema uko number 3 in command, na ulinyamaza nzoia ikiuzwa; 2027 unaenda nyumbani.”

Mtachukua list ya hao Watoto wenu wote ambao wako juu, mnaanzia na huyu mwenye anasema ni Number 3 in command, mnaenda senator mnaenda mp hao wote waende nyumbani.”

While also engaging Tongaren Constituency locals at Naitiri Market, the locals also spelt doom for the area MP, John Chikati, who doubles as the Ford Kenya Secretary-General, terming him a “Wantam” MP. Sifuna, responding to the Naitiri locals, urged the MP to align with him or face the people’s wrath.

This comes days after a section of Bungoma MPs allied to Sifuna also stated that anybody from the county who does not align with him will be rejected on the ballot.

Sifuna-Bukusu elders meeting

Sifuna was hosted by Mukhisa Kituyi, where a meeting between him and the Bukusu Council of Elders was held at Kituyi’s Mbakalo home.

According to the United Opposition spokesman, it was the inaugural meeting and was meant to welcome Sifuna into the now-united alternative government in their quest to make President William Ruto a “Wantam” president and to fight what he termed a “third liberation”.

This comes at a time when Sifuna’s popularity, which was boosted by his ouster from the Orange Democratic Movement as secretary-general, continues to rise.
