Sifuna reveals what will inform Linda Mwananchi’s next move
Nairobi senator and the embattled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general Edwin Sifuna has said that the next course of action that the Linda Mwananchi group is going to take politically will be determined by the number of people who will have registered under the “Sisi ndio Sifuna” movement.
Speaking during a public rally held by the Linda Mwananchi faction in Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa County on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Sifuna also unveiled a digital registration initiative linked to the Linda Mwananchi movement, encouraging attendees to sign up online to help quantify support ahead of future political activities.
“We want you to go online and register so we know how many we are. There is a number we are waiting to reach, and once we get there, we will announce our next steps,” Sifuna said.

The ODM Secretary-General further dismissed claims that the opposition lacks numbers, urging supporters to demonstrate their strength visibly.
“They tell us we have no votes. If you have a vote, raise your hand,” he said, prompting a sea of raised hands from the crowd.
Orengo backs Sifuna
Sifuna’s sentiments were echoed by Siaya Governor James Orengo, who urged supporters at Tononoka Grounds to start organising early for the 2027 General Election, stressing the importance of voter readiness and vigilance.
“Winning an election in 2027 starts now. I want you to prepare yourselves – be ready, be registered,” Orengo said.
Orengo questioned whether the attendees had voter cards describing the upcoming election as a decisive moment for Kenya, promising a new political direction.
“This time around in 2027, there will be no stealing of votes. We will show up everywhere in Mombasa, Nakuru, Nairobi, Kisumu, and Turkana to ensure the will of the people is respected,” Orengo added.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been insisting that the movement will carry out a nationwide tally of people who subscribe to the ‘Sisi Ndio Sifuna’ slogan before he accepts the push from Kenyans to try for the top seat.
In an interview with an international TV outlet aired on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the outspoken and embattled leader stated that he wants to get the total tally so that it can inform his next political move.
“Kabla mnichoche, lazima nione takwimu.Tunatakaa tufanye census ya watu ambao wanajiitaSifuna,, tujue tuko wangapi, na mdhibitishe kwamba nyinyi ni wapiga kura na mtajitokeza kupiga kura kwa hiari yenu,” Sifuna stated.
