Ruto’s Director of Youth Affairs officially ditches UDA, welcomed to ODM by Raila
The Director of Youth Affairs in the Office of Deputy President William Ruto, Anthony Kibagendi, has officially decamped from the United Democratic Alliance party to Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement Party.
Kibagendi was officially welcomed to the Orange party by its party leader Raila Odinga and Kisii Governor James Ongwae.
The youthful politician formally resigned from UDA after a tiff with South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro. The duo had a nasty exchange of words in a WhatsApp group, scoffing at each other’s chances of being elected.
“At least I have been elected even if I lose this coming election, but for you to be elected will be the eighth wonder of the world,” Osoro told him.
Kibagendi is currently gunning for the Kitutu Chache parliamentary seat, that will be left vacant by the incumbent Richard Onyonka, who has piqued interest in the Kisii senatorial seat.
Kibagendi, who went to the online portal of the Office of Registrar of Political Parties to formally resign, accused Osoro and flamboyant businessman-cum-politician Zaheer Jhanda of high-handedness.
“Yeah, I have resigned. I have worked tirelessly for UDA but now I am being despised. I have left to them their party,” Kibagendi said.
