Raila hints at running for president in 2027 polls

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga yesterday hinted at running for the presidency in 2027, maintaining that his quest to assume the country’s leadership was still intact.
Addressing crowds of ODM supporters in Kwale county, he said his resolve to liberate Kenyans from poor leadership remains intact despite losing during the last general election.
He told the charged crowds that his mission is to defend democracy and ensure justice prevails for all Kenyans.
Speaking at Matuga during an empowerment event convened by Kwale Woman Representative Fatuma Masito, Raila asked his supporters to remain steadfast and should not fall to freebies being dangled by the Kenya Kwanza government.
General elections
Raila speaking in metaphors, said he remains as fit as a fiddle.
He stated that his tour of the Coast region demonstrated that ODM remains the party of choice among the locals as the country gears towards the next general election. He pleaded with Coast residents to remain steadfast in the Orange party despite its failure to win the last general elections. He accused the current government of failing to deliver the pledges it made to the electorate during the campaigns, resulting in the high cost of living prevailing in the country today.
“Since these people got into power, the cost of living has continued to shoot up, from food, to education and health, things have continued to be tough, they have failed to deliver,” claimed Raila.
