Raila claims Kenyans are pleading with him to be their president

By , December 3, 2021

Orange Democratic Movement Party Leader Raila Odinga now claims that he has traversed the nation and has received a universal message from Kenyans that they are yearning for his presidency.

“I have gone to Mt Kenya, Coast, Eastern, Western, North Eastern and even Rift Valley. The message I am getting is that the people want Raila Odinga to be their next president,” he said.

The former Prime Minister, who is yet to officially declare his interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been holding consultative meetings, dubbed Azimio La Umoja, across the nation.

In his meetings, the former premier has been engaging elected leaders, grassroot leaders and other interest groups as he seeks to court new allies and spread his political tentacles ahead of the 2022 presidential contest.

The veteran politician is set to hold an event on December 9, 2021, where he is expected to disclose his next political trajectory.

If he declares interest in the presidency, Raila will be making a fifth stab at the presidency that has proven eluded him for years now.
