Orwoba: My salary was stopped 3 months before the seat was declared vacant
Former nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has revealed that her salary was stopped months before her seat was gazetted as vacant on Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Speaking during an interview with K24 TV on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Orwoba stated that her salary stopped approximately three months before that date, tracing the timeline back to the period of her suspension.

“Something that people don’t know is that my salary did not stop on the day when they gazetted my seat vacant. My salary actually stopped about 3 months before that, when I was suspended,” Orwoba said.
Challenging the move

“I have not received a salary from the Parliamentary Service Commission. I can’t even remember the last time I got a salary from them, to be honest,” Orwoba added.
Orwoba’s belongings at the Senate
Gloria Orwoba, who months ago was expelled from the Senate and stripped of her nomination capacity, continued to explain that at the time when she was having a tough time with the Senate, she had two phones, one for work and the other personal, and after she was expelled, she was never allowed to go back to the Senate to collect her belongings from the office.

She added that inside the office, there were also her children’s documents, which are still stuck within the precincts of the Upper House.
“I had a work phone and a personal phone; they are in the office. My kids’ documentation is also in the office, and the last time I was informed and even confirmed, I had a sensor on my phone to show me when there was movement and access to certain places in my office. It showed me that they actually broke into my office and removed everything around and took my documentation,” Orwoba said.
