Olekina expresses hope for ODM revival while reflecting on Raila’s legacy
Narok senator Ledama Olekina has come out expressing his hope for the rise in the Orange Democratic Movement amid recently witnessed party shake-up.
Taking to his official X account on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Ledama noted that despite the internal wrangles witnessed in the twenty-year-old political party, he is still hopeful of a rise.
“Dear Raila, If our internal wrangles shake the peace we gained and fracture the unity we forged as a party, even now that you have passed, when you were alive and leading us, I know we will rise again, for we trust you are still watching over us,” Olekina said.

Ledama call for Party unity
His remarks come days after he called on the Orange Democratic Movement, ODM, to consider negotiations and dialogue to resolve internal divisions in the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Taking it to his social media X handle on Friday, February 13, 2026, Ledama Olekina has urged the members of the party to rally for unity through structured dialogue and grassroots reconciliation ahead of the National Delegates Convention set to be conducted by the party.
“We must not allow ODM to approach 2027 with weakened negotiating clout amid deepening internal divisions. Instead, we must rally for unity through structured dialogue, grassroots reconciliation, and a decisive National Delegates Convention to forge a cohesive strategy,” Olekina said.
The outspoken Narok Senator has said that the ODM party should not head to the 2027 elections in conflict, and therefore, measures to resolve them should be undertaken to ensure the party remains strong.
Salasya remarks to ODM
Meanwhile as Ledama calls for unity within the party, contrary to his call Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has come out publicly criticising the Orange Democratic Movement for what he describes as capturing Kenyans.
Taking to his official X account on Friday, February 13, 2026, Salasya, while describing the ODM political drama, stated that the party is being used by State House to confuse Kenyans.
He went on accusing the party of being used by the State House to confuse Kenyans with discussions around ODM politics, naming Edwin Sifuna as the mastermind of the confusion.
“ODM is united but being used by the state house to confuse Kenyans to keep them busy discussing ODM politics as they continue to steal, and the mastermind of these silly games is this conish man in the name of Sifuna, but very soon Kenyans will know the truth,” Salasya added.
