Participation and eligibility

The party has said that it would be opening applications for various leadership positions in its offices at both the branch and county levels before the elections for eligible delegates. It is hoped that the process will foster the reinforcement of grassroots organisations and improve the quality of the party’s internal governance.

The NECC noted that it had highlighted to the members the need to ensure the process is orderly as preparations ramp up in the affected areas, stressing that members must follow the designated timelines and processes.

ODM opens 2027 invites aspirants for nomination

In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) and shared via the party’s official social media accounts, ODM called on qualified and interested members to submit applications for party tickets across all levels of leadership ahead of the 2027 polls.

Notably, the expression of interest process includes the highly anticipated presidential ticket, opening the door for party members who may wish to contest for the top office on an ODM ticket, despite the party being in a broad-based government arrangement with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), with talks still ongoing for a possible pre-election coalition agreement.
