No, thank you! Kalonzo declines Kindiki’s outreach

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has firmly rejected overtures by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to join the Kenya Kwanza government, stating unequivocally that he will not work with a regime he accuses of having Gen Z blood on its hands, including that of slain protester Albert Ojwang.
Kalonzo’s strong remarks come just a day after Kindiki publicly declared his intention to reach out to the former Vice President, describing him as a big brother who deserves a place where he is given respect.
In a sharply worded statement on his official X account on Sunday, June 15, 2025, Kalonzo dismissed the DP’s remarks as insincere and a diversionary tactic intended to create cracks within the recently consolidated opposition movement.
“This is all diversionary and a poor attempt to divide the United Opposition,” Kalonzo said.
“I cannot work with or meet up with people with Gen Z blood on their hands, including that of Albert Ojwang.”
The opposition honcho said he will be on the side of the people as the United Opposition continues to set afoot their strategies to take home President Ruto in the 2027 general polls.
“Kenyans know the truth, Mr HalfTam. I will always be on the side of the people,” he asserted.
“It is not lost on us that every time Kenyans rally behind a cause, the regime attempts to co-opt or confuse the narrative. But the people are awake now, and no amount of charm offensives will work,” Kalonzo added in his address.

The Kindiki woo
Kindiki, who has recently been extending an olive branch to the Wiper Chief, said he was willing to personally look for Kalonzo, suggesting that the former VP should be given due recognition.
Speaking on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Wote town, Makueni County, during the Empowerment Forum for micro and small-scale traders and women youth groups, Kindiki insisted that there is no enmity between him and the former VP and Wiper Party leader.

The DP promised to look for Kalonzo for consultations on the region’s development.
“I respect Kalonzo, who is my senior-in-law and is full of respect for all leaders. I will talk to him because what we want to see is the development of the region, like every other part of the country,” Kindiki said.
He noted that he would not want to see the Wiper leader misled by politicians who mean no good for the country.
“I will look for him as you have tasked me to do so. We do not want him to be misled by those keen to destabilise the country through divisive and tribal politics.”
The DP reiterated that the government will work with all leaders irrespective of their political affiliation, as it is the right thing to do.
“We are serving all Kenyans because every Kenyan pays taxes in one way or another. You cannot say this community does not have shares in government and therefore should not benefit from development. That is unacceptable and unconstitutional,” he said.
